Last Spring, Waterville's Science Olympiad team brought home the state championship for the 17th time in 21 years of competing.  On Thursday (09/29/16), Coach Ramgren selected this year’s squad which includes 6 seniors and 3 juniors from last year's championship team; as well as 6 sophomores and 5 freshmen. It includes: Clio Bazakas, Merline Feero, Natalia Fuentes, Nora Green, Maddie Hallen, Bridger Holly, Carter Jones, Adam Livshits, Katie Lopes, Cecilia Morin, Anthony Pinnette, Nathan Pinnette, David Ramgren, Ella Ruehsen, John Violette; and Jess Bazakas, Abi Bloom, Kevin Chen, Brock Jolicoeur, and Jordan Perkins.

Mr Ramgren said he anticipates another tough competition this season--especially, in what is becoming a two school dual, from Waynefleet Academy.

Teams will be working very hard to be ready for this year’s state championship at the near the end of March at the University of Southern Maine, and then the national competition in late May at Wright State University (Dayton, OH).   In addition to preparing for their events, team members will also need to work on earning the funds necessary to compete locally and at the nationals.  Please be sure to congratulate these dedicated academicians when you see them and support their efforts however you can.
