Renaissance Awards here at Waterville Senior High School are a way for the school to give back to its students and community members by honoring and recognizing those who contribute to the positive environment that WSHS fosters. “For over 25 years, the Waterville Senior High School Renaissance Program has awarded students for achievements and actions that align with what our school respects. Attendance, extracurricular activities, and academic achievement are valued and therefore recognized,” said Ms. Rasmussen of the tradition. Ms. Rasmussen is a caring, dedicated, and hardworking staff member here at school, who is a primary contributor to putting on the event. “For me, the time and effort I put into this program more than equal the joy I get out of it,” she said of her involvement in the ceremony. And, that joy comes from seeing the positive reactions from students, staff, and parents.”

The deserving award recipients who were recognized at the assembly on Thursday, November 29th, were Brock Jolicoeur, Adam Livshits, David Barre, D’Nell McDonald, Nikkia-Lynn Pressey, Molly Wasilewski, Kai Rabideau, Merline Feero, Madeline Hallen, Gwinna Remillard, and Leah Shoulta. If you see any of these peers in the halls, be sure to congratulate them on their recent honorable recognition -- and more importantly, to thank them for the outstanding character and good school citizenship that they demonstrated in order to achieve it. Individual photos of award recipients and more information can be found in the most recent publication of the Parent Press.
