Maine Community Colleges Placement Changes

New Maine Community College Guidelines:

Do you have community college ambitions?  Maine Community Colleges recently announced they are moving away from the Accuplacer and relying more on PSAT and SAT scores as the entrance requirements for classes beginning in the spring of 2019 (although Central Maine Community College has already transitioned away from Acuplacer).

For example:
  • English score of a 480 or higher moves students into a credit-bearing English course.
  • Math score of a 500 or higher moves students into a College Algebra or Statistics course.
  • Math score of a 450 or higher + full year of math in 12th grade moves students into an Applied Technology or Quantitative Reasoning course.

More information will be coming, and we'll share as we get updates.
