Music Is Her Thing...and Then Some - Sue Barre

Sue Barre
Sue Barre is the band director in Waterville grades 5-12.   She is a graduate of UMass Amherst where she earned a Bachelor's of Music Education and Horn Performance.   Sue holds a Master's in Educational Leadership from USM Gorham.   This is her fourteenth year at WSHS where she works with the Pep Band, Jazz Band and the Fall Musical and serves as Chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Department.  Sue started her teaching career in Turner Maine and has taught in Freeport Maine.   Sue was elected to the Board of the National Association for Music Education last February and will be representing states from Maine to D.C. in that role over the next six years.   Sue lives in Waterville with her husband and her children are attending three different college this year.    Hiking, quilting, reading, attending concerts as an audience member and time with family are just a few of her favorite things.
