Update:
It was a very special day and concert for the entire community, but especially so for the more than 60 band students who were able to learn and play with these excellent musicians. Enjoy a few snaps from during the day.

Mark your calendars because you won't want to miss this! On Thursday, April 27th, at 7:00 PM, the Navy Band of the Northeast is coming to Waterville High.  This event is FREE and open to the public, there has been advertising and already folks there is an exciting buzz around the State. Please don't miss this outstanding ensemble's performance. In addition to the special evening concert our All-State Band students Aubrey Fossett, Katey Caron and Sarah Barre will be performing a piece with the band, "Semper Fidelis".

However, this is not just a concert opportunity, earlier in the day Waterville students will work with the Navy band members in music clinics from 12:45 to 2:00 PM. This is such an outstanding opportunity for the students to work and perform with professionals.

Navy Band Northeast
The band was originally formed In the 1840s at the US Naval Academy, had its first brief stay in New England (Newport, RI) during the Civil War. When the Naval Acadamy returned to Annapolis, MD, at the end of the war, the band continued on its own for a number of years before finding a permanent presence with active military, veteran, and some civilian members in the 1880s.  The Navy Band Northeast was placed under the operational control of the President, Naval War College in October 2006. The Navy Band Northeast is proud to serve civilian and military communities throughout the Northeastern United States.
