Wednesday, Waterville's greatest mathematicians stepped up to show their stuff. This time, traveling to Messalonskee High. Looking for a win and turning in another solid performance, the team had to settle for an overall second place behind the host school, Messalonskee. However, that same solid performance allowed them to outscore Lawrence High, their other area rival.

The top three finishing schools and scores were:
Math Team
  • 1st place Messalonskee 275 pts
  • 2nd place WSHS 182 pts
  • 3rd place Lawrence 150 pts

Our meet high scorers were:
  • Soren Nyhus 36 pts
  • Nathan Pinnette 27 pts
  • 3rd Bridger Holly 25 pts
  • 4th Conrad Ayers 23 pts
  • 5th Daniel Kornsey 22 pts

Math TeamWednesday's and the previous strong finishes place the team high in the Inland division standings (8 teams). The last Inland divisional meet is Jan 25th, followed in March by the entire Central Maine division meet at Cony High(24 teams). Coach Rivard says both these days should be great opportunities for our team.  The state championship is in April with 110 total Maine teams.

Congratulations to these fine scholars, their coach, and the entire Math Team.
