Meet Our Principal
Asst Principal Laramee

"It is with great pride, humble respect, and tremendous gratitude that I report that the school board voted tonight [April 6, 2016] to appoint me as Principal of Waterville Senior High School," and with that statement, Mr. Laramee too the reins of Waterville Senior High School.

Brian was not a new face to Waterville. He originally came to the high school as our Assistant Principal. Near the end of his 5th year at serving our students and community he moved into the number one seat.

His educational career began in MSAD #43 as an educational technician in his hometown of Mexico, ME.  Following that position, he worked in a day treatment school in Lewiston, ME. His first teaching job was working as a Biology Teacher at Gardiner Area High School in Gardiner, ME, and after several years, he left teaching in order to take an administrative position as an Athletic Director/Assistant Principal at Buckfield, Maine's Junior/Senior High School.  Then, his final move was to Waterville to join the administrative team here as Assistant Principal.

Mr. Laramee's professional education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Maine at Farmington, a Masters of Science in Education from the University of New England, an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree specializing in Curriculum and Instruction, also from Capella University.   His dissertation focused on the relationship between Maine public school fiscal resources and student achievement.

During my time at Waterville Senior High School, his primary personal goal has been to develop positive relationships with students, faculty, parents, and the community.  Brian commented, "Being a parent of a WSHS graduate [class of '16] helped me with that goal."  Professionally, Mr. Laramee's primary goals have centered on improving student attendance and helping foster respectful and responsible students.

Every day, you can see that Mr. Laramee is still living a statement he made to the faculty in 2016, "I am excited to be part of all the wonderful things that are happening at Waterville Senior High School." Brian encourages anyone who has any questions or concerns regarding their child’s education at WSHS, to call him at the school (873-2751) or email me at  Brian looks forward to every day as part of making it a great school year!
