Meet Our Assistant Principal

Kim Taylor, Assistant Principal

Assistant Principal, Ms. Kim Taylor

I am honored to join the Waterville Senior High School community as the assistant principal. This is my 20th year in public education and my sixth year as an administrator. I recently relocated from Auburn where I worked for 19 years as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and principal of an elementary school. I am passionate about building a positive school culture and work hard to foster an environment where students feel safe and where optimal learning can take place.

When I am not in school, I am typically spending time with my children and stepchildren. I currently have four children at home and two young adults who are making their way in the world. Two of my daughters are teenagers, so I can relate to the experiences our high school families are currently facing. We spend a lot of time cooking and baking together, visiting bookstores, and traveling. In the summer of 2019, my children and I spent over two months traveling across the country in a motorhome. Standing in the Redwood Forest and waking up to a herd of bison outside our camper were just two highlights from our trip.

My door is always open to students and family members. I believe family members play an essential role in a child’s education. If you have a question or a concern, please call or schedule a visit. Open communication is the key to a successful school community and an involved parent is an informed parent.

There are many great things happening here at WSHS and I am thrilled to be a part of them. One of my favorite quotes about leadership by Lisa Haisha is, “Great leaders don’t set out to be a leader, they set out to make a difference. It’s never about the role, always about the goal.” My goal is to make a difference in the lives of every student here at WSHS.

Yours in partnership,Kim with family
