Open to Maine high school juniors (class of 2018) the Future Teachers Academy will take place on June 19th on the Thomas College campus.  Students who are interested in exploring the field of education will be able to participate in a daylong, hands-on and experiential teaching environment within a STEAM-based curriculum taught by talented Thomas College Education faculty.  This academy is free and includes morning snacks and lunch.  Students will get a chance to participate in workshops, create projects, and will be able to take a tour of the College after the day concludes.  Thomas College’s education program is unique in that all students have exposure to STEAM curriculum.  This academy will give students an insight into this – and by attending, they will receive a $1,000 visit scholarship toward their first semester if they apply, are accepted and decide to attend Thomas College upon high school graduation.  Students can register online at www.thomas.edu/future-teacher-academy
