The Panthers had an outstanding Martin Luther King Jr Day with the cheer team winning the Jamie Beth Shible Award for Class B (awarded to the team who improved the most from last year's KVAC Competition Cheering Championship).
Winter Cheer
Team members Lilly Bohner, Madison Clowes, Kelsey Courtois, Katelyn Gagne, Allison Grady, Cassidy Hartin, Kailene Isbell, Ella Ruehsen, and Kassidy Richard gather with Head Coach, Alyssa Flye, and Asst. Coach, Amanda Loubier after the competition.  The team took 6th place at the KVACs.

The boys basketball team earned their first victory with a 54-51 win over Erskine Academy.

The girls basketball team beat Erskine Academy 73-16.

The hockey team beat Presque Isle 13-0.  Speaking of hockey...on December 27, senior Andrew Roderigue broke the school record of most points scored by a defenseman (the old record was 105 points).  Roderigue currently has accumulated 119 points.  Senior Justin Wentworth tied the school record with most goals scored in a game at six goals early on in the season.  Wentworth currently leads the State in most goals scored with 23.

Our indoor track team continues to make strides at each meet.  At the Dartmouth Relays, the Panthers who participated represented Waterville very well:
Unseeded Results:
Sarah Cox (shot put - 4th), Jennasea Hubbard (shot put - 8th), Ethan Nurick (triple jump - 6th), Kyle McGadney (long jump - 15th), TT Brandon (long jump - 5th)

Seeded Results:
Isaac Pellerin (pole vault - 15th), Nick Dall (1 mile - 5th - medal winner)

Our Waterville-Winslow swim team is making a significant impact in Class A.  The team just suffered their first loss of the season this past Friday to an outstanding Brunswick team.  Many of our swimmers swam at their personal bests on Friday.  John Reisert dropped his 500-meter freestyle time by 10 seconds!
