Great Things to Shout About - Basketball, Swimming and Indoor Track & Field

On Saturday, Feb 9, our Indoor Track & and Field Team and the Waterville-Winslow Swim Team had great performances at their respective KVAC Championship Meets:

In Indoor Track,
The boys placed 7th.  Ethan Nurick won the Boys Triple Jump and was runner-up in the Boys Long Jump. Ethan Nurick's winning triple jump mark is a new KVAC record. 
The girls placed 3rd: Tiamara Bell won the Girls High Jump and was 3rd in the Girls Hurdles. Hailey Ruest tied for 6th in the Girls High Jump. Lauren Pinnette won the Girls Hurdles. Sarah Cox won the Girls Shot Put, Jennasea Hubbard placed 3rd in the Girls Shot Put, and Corinne Rodgers placed 7th in the Girls Shot Put. Sophia Poole won the Girls 400m.
Other top 7 finishers include:  Kody Vallee, 400 meters, 7th,  Zac McAllister, 800 meters, 6th, and Girls Long Jump:  3rd Timara Bell, 4th Sophia Poole, 5th Jess Bazakas

In swimming,
The boys placed 2nd (only 5 points behind Brunswick) and were named KVAC Runners-Up for Class A!!!  The boys broke the 200 medley relay record with a time of 1:46.0: Zach LaFlamme, Eric Booth, Carter Jones, and Jake Witham.
The girls placed 5th. New team records include: Carter Jones broke the 100 fly record by almost a full second with a  time of 55.00. The girls broke both the old Waterville and Winslow 200 free relay record with a time of 1:48.47: Leah Shoulta, Emma Farnham, Elyse St. Pierre, and Ebba Heaton-Jones.

2018-2019 Swim Team member: Estephanie Baez Vazquez, Sarah Barre, Kevin Chen, Randi Gurski, Ebba Heaton-Jones, Carter Jones, Meghan McNeil, Sarah McNeil, David Ramgren, Alexander Renaud, Leah Shoulta, Miranda Troy, Zoey Trussell, Molly Wasilewski, and Mya Wasilewski.

Girls Basketball Honor A Special Person

Tonight the Waterville Girls Basketball program honored Coach Dan Cosgrove for his commitment and dedication to girls basketball in Waterville. Coach Cosgrove has been coaching since 1973. The girls basketball players presented Coach C with a seat cover with his name on it emphasizing that he will ALWAYS have a chair in our gym!
